Tokairo's
eCopy Connector Saves Businesses Time and Money
-
TokOpen Connector for eCopy ShareScan® OP - Scan,
index and store documents from multifunction devices -
Tokairo,
a division of Corpora, is launching a new technology that
will help organisations use MFDs to scan, index and store
documents across their business. The TokOpen Connector for
eCopy ShareScan® OP software will work with Canon,
Ricoh and Toshiba multifunction devices (MFDs). These documents
are thenautomatically stored to Tokairo's document management
(DM) system TokOpen, irrespective of where the MFD is located.

|
Tokairo's
customers can now link their MFDs seamlessly with
their DM system. The Connector provides a number
of features that improve processes and increase
efficiency. To eliminate scanning errors and ensure
image quality, previews of the scanned documents
are shown on a touch panel at the MFD. When saved
into TokOpen, organisations can use their MFD
to integrate document management across their
business - capturing documents in various departments
such as sales, operations, HR and finance.
"The
Connector allows our customers to maximise the
return on their existing investment in MFDs. Instead
of running a large number of devices, this innovative
software allows our customers to manage their
documents from a single MFD instead of many scanners,"
commented Corpora Chief Executive Mark Thompson.
"Frequently,
organisations have two different work processes
tackling the same business task - one electronic
workflow moving at Internet speed trailed by a
slow, inefficient paper-bound process," said
Alan Cornwell, eCopy general manager, Europe.
"The Tokairo Connector helps organisations
remove this roadblock by converting paper to secure
digital documents, and directly storing them into
TokOpen - so all the information is readily available
in one repository, eliminating the need for paper-bound
processes."

Further
features/benefits include:
- Extension
of TokOpen to the MFD requiring minimal user
training
- Quick
return on investment (ROI) by using existing
MFDs
- Integrates
with all major MFDs supported by eCopy
- Enforced
security - only authorized TokOpen users can
scan documents to protected drawers and folders
- Scanned
documents can be entered into workflow system
- preventing 'snail mail'
- Staff
can scan documents into their own 'In Tray,'
which is immediately accessible online via a
standard Web browser using TokOpen
- The
Connector offers On Demand scanning (documents
in real time), batch scanning (high volume documents),
production scanning (archives, post room and
department documents) and indexing options
